'We have used Shakira for all the services she provides and she is truly amazing. We use Shakira most regularly for walking Ralph twice a week and for her holiday services. When we go away and have to leave Ralph it is always difficult as we love him so much but I never worry about him when he is staying with Shakira. I know he is as loved and cared for as he would be at home. Our dog Ralph absolutely loves her and we have learnt so much from her about how we can provide the best for our dog. All bookings are subject to these Terms & Conditions. Variations to the Terms & Conditions may be made from time to time if you agree to use any of our services you agree to our terms & conditions.

Mileage will be added to clients at 25 pence per mile within 4 miles and 40 pence thereafter for the return journey. Take My Lead charges are payable in consideration of the services that we operate. Your booking will not be confirmed until Take My Lead has received a booking/consent form with either:
  • 1 weeks'/1 months' fees in advance for a regular service
  • Full fees for occasional services as confirmation

At particularly busy times of the year such as Christmas, New Year and bank holidays a supplement is payable. Whilst every care will be taken of dogs undertaking treadmill sessions they do so entirely at the owner’s own risk.

Owners are required to notify Take my Lead if during a treadmill session an injury/condition worsens. Owners agree to keep their dog/s leashed if they are suffering from an injury/condition whilst exercising if they are undertaking treadmill sessions. If the fee is not sent with your booking form we are unable to guarantee you a place. Your fees are not refundable if your booking is cancelled within 48 hours of a confirmed booking. A late payment fee of £5 per booked session will be charged if fees are not met when due.

Cancellations

As Take my Lead operates on strict numbers, any holidays/short breaks to regular services which occur outside of the business annual leave, which on average is 4 weeks per year January to December will be chargeable at the specific service fee under taken. 

If you have a regular service you must give at least 1 weeks notice in writing to take a break or reduce services in regular sessions.  Should you wish to terminate your contract, you must give at least 1 months notice in writing. Regular and occasional bookings of any description will not be refunded if cancelled within 1 week. Take my Lead will make every effort to be flexible regarding amendments to dates on regular services subject to availability.

Your pet

We may not accept bookings for badly behaved or aggressive animals. Take My Lead may terminate an engagement immediately if it is reasonably thought that a pet is badly behaved or aggressive either towards humans, animals or property. You will be liable if your pet injures a third party, any property or any other dog.

Should a dog defecate, urinate or vomit whilst travelling in our vehicle, the owner will be liable regarding costs to valet the vehicle and will be charged for any loss of earnings whilst our vehicle is out of action due to the incident. Proofs of vaccinations are required. Kennel cough vaccination is recommended.

Please note the Control of Dogs Order 1992 mandates that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the name and address (including post code) of the owner engraved or written on it, or engraved on a tag, whether the dog is chipped or not. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that www.petlog.co.uk hold their correct details as in the unlikely event that your dog is lost we would be unable to collect or retrieve if the details that we hold on file are not the same as those held by pet log.

You must ensure that your pet is in good health and free from fleas and is adequately wormed. If Take My Lead believes that your pet is not in good health we reserve the right to seek veterinary advice on your behalf and you will be liable for the veterinary fees. If it becomes necessary your animal will be taken to a veterinary surgeon, you are responsible for any fees that are reasonably incurred during your absence or during an assignment.

The owner undertakes to make full disclosure of any quality or characteristic which might make your dog unsuitable for a home service including behavioural or health problems, anti-social behaviour including aggression, incontinence/lack of house training or excessive loud barking/whining. Failure on the part of the owner to disclose any matter which might render owner's dog unsuitable for home services will be deemed a material omission amounting to a fundamental breach of our agreement.

All efforts will be made to contact the owner in the event of an emergency. We recommend owners provide us with a contact number of a trusted 3rd party should we be unable to make contact. However, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding your dog's health provided it is at all times in the best interests of the dog and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. The owner is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred by us. Owners accept full liability for any loss or damage caused by the dog whilst in the care of Take My Lead. The owner is financially responsible for any loss or damage to property.
